participating in negotiations on succession to the former Yugoslav
federation in Vienna has accused Croatia of insisting on "some
division of the property of the former Communist Alliance."
Dobroslav Mitrovic told Belgrade's Beta news agency "the other
delegations are not interested" in that property.
He said the leaders of the five successor states' delegations might
meet without a mediator to discuss "all open issues."
Mitrovic said a "fierce debate" took place on Monday, the first day
of the Vienna negotiations, and that the Bosnian delegation "was
particularly harsh towards Croatia and Slovenia with regard to the
'key' for the division of the property."
Mitrovic further said "a small front" had been created comprising
Yugoslavia, Macedonia and Bosnia, "three to two, so we shall see how
to proceed."
He told Beta his "Yugoslav" delegation was not willing to budge as
"Serbia has budged for a whole century, so now we shall come forward
with what we think objectively belongs to us."
The latest, two-week succession negotiations are held with
mediation from Sir Arthur Watts.
