BELGRADE, May 11 (Hina) - The Yugoslav parliament on Friday stripped Serbian Socialist Party (SPS) deputies Nikola Sainovic and Jovan Zebic of immunity. The two men have been accused, along with the former Yugoslav president Slobodan
Milosevic, of abusing their office and embezzling some DEM 800 million of budgetary funds. The decision to strip Sainovic and Zebic of immunity was supported by 76 parliamentarians whereas 37 voted against. Sainovic and Zebic were Milosevic's close associates and held the offices of Yugoslav prime ministers. In the past decade, Sainovic was Milosevic's close associate in several secret and public political and diplomatic missions whereas Zebic is believed to have run all financial and various illegal transactions.
