ZAGREB, May 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Journalists' Trade Union called upon all journalists and media workers to protest against threats to the dignity of journalists and freedom of media between 11.55AM and noon Thursday, on the World
Press Freedom Day. The protest will be called "Five Minutes of Thundering Silence". The Trade Union stressed journalist were constantly being pressured, their labour and social rights were being violated which represents a threat to the independence and objectivity of media. The Trade Union said in a statement that a national collective agreement can solve the majority of problems in the Croatian media, while its signing would bring Croatia closer to the standards of developed countries, particularly in the field of labour-social and professional rights.(hina) it sb
