ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Leon Sulic, director of the transport company 'Croatia bus', who was arrested on Wednesday on suspicion of appropriating DM 550,000 of his company's funds, was questioned on Thursday by a Zagreb County Court
investigating judge who refused the prosecution's request that Sulic be detained and ordered his release. Sulic's attorney Dragutin Kasapovic said his client had denied having appropriated the money obtained from the sale of 'Croatia bus' shares to the Mostar company 'Autoprijevoz' in 1999, which is what the union of 'Croatia bus' employees sued Sulic for. The union lawsuit from 1999 is the first in a series of 17 lawsuits filed against Sulic (aged 53) for causing damage to his company worth more than DM 20 million.
