SLUNJ, April 20 (Hina) - Croatian and United States troops on Friday carried out a military exercise called "The Day for Media" at the artillery range in Slunj (some 100 kilometres south of Zagreb) on Friday. This was a part of their
joint manoeuvres called "Slunj 2001" which are being performed from 8 to 27 April. Today's exercise at which reporters were invited was carried out by 1,400 U.S. marines and 250 Croatian soldiers. Croatian Lieutenant Eugen Njari informed a score of journalists about this artillery range and the organisation of joint Croatian-American military exercises. On Friday the journalist saw the exercise of U.S and Croatian infantry, artillery, tank and air force units and medical personnel. US high-ranking officer Mikal Rasheed told the reporters that he was surprised at the good training and high qualifications and education of Croatian soldiers and officers.(hina) ms
