SLUNJ, April 18 (Hina) - A delegation of Croatia's Defence Ministry, on Wednesday toured the artillery range in Slunj (some 100 kilometres south of Zagreb) where Croatian and US military troops are performing a joint military
exercise. The purpose of the manoeuvres is for Croatians to become acquainted with the planning and organisation of such a military exercise and to follow part of the work of the American military. The exercise, called "Slunj 2001", should also help the Croatian army's bids to come closer to NATO's standards, said Lieutenant General Marijan Marekovic, who led the ministry's delegation. The costs of the exercise, which come to 1.6 million kuna (less than USD 200,000) will be covered together by the Croatian and the US party. Lt. Gen.
