SARAJEVO, April 6 (Hina) - The defence ministry of Bosnia's Croat-Muslim federation confirmed on Friday the situation in the federal army was getting back to normal after most Croats, both soldiers and officers, left the Croat Defence
Council (HVO), the federal army's Croat component. They did so at the urging of the Croatian Democratic Union party and the Croat National Congress. The civilians who in the last few days took over some HVO barracks have mainly left the premises and the situation is back under the control of federal authorities. It was also confirmed that 350 members of the federal army's third brigade, which is headquartered in Busovaca, central Bosnia, had reported for duty by the first hours of the afternoon. They all had talks with newly-appointed commander Marinko Palavar and confirmed willingness to have their professional contracts extended.(hina) ha sb
