Of this amount, 70 percent was invested in two countries - Poland,
which accounts for 40 percent and Bosnia-Herzegovina which
accounts for 30 percent. Slovenia, for instance, accounts for eight
(8) percent.
According to figures released by the central bank, almost a half of
the Croatian ownership investment, was invested in pharmaceutical
companies abroad. Over 10 percent of the amount invested by
Croatian companies was given in the telecommunications, 8.9
percent in the maritime transport, and 6.8 percent in the furniture
production.
It is interesting that Croatians also invested in some countries
known as 'tax havens' such as Antigua and Barbuda (some $17
million), or St. Vincent and Grenadines (some $9 million).
