ZAGREB, March 27 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament Speaker Zlatko Tomcic and Albanian President Rexhep Meidani discussed in Zagreb on Tuesday the improvement of economic cooperation, the strengthening of ties between the two countries and
the situation in the region. "The foundations of good cooperation which were laid a month an a half ago during our visit to Albania have begun yielding results through concrete economic cooperation, considering the existing interest of the two countries' business people," Tomcic said after the meeting. "We should stress that we have the same views as regards the promotion of cooperation between our countries," Meidani said. Tuesday the improvement of economic cooperation, the strengthening
of ties between the two countries and the situation in the region.

According to Tomcic, the meeting also tackled the need to

Both officials expressed their concern about the situation in
Macedonia saying that "dialogue is an irreplaceable option in
alleviating the situation."
The Albanian president on Monday met President Stjepan Mesic, with
whom he discussed the situation in the region and bilateral
cooperation, and representatives of the Croatian Oil Industry
(INA).
Meidani today visited the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and he is
expected to attend a working lunch organised by Prime Minister
Ivica Racan, after which he leaves for Albania.
The Albanian and Croatian public work ministers, Spartak Pocija and
Radimir Cacic respectively, today agreed on cooperation between
the two ministries, announcing that the two ministries would sign
an agreement soon.
