ZAGREB, Feb 25 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament speaker Zlatko Tomcic assessed statements given by some opposition's politicians that the annulment of the House of Counties could cause early parliamentary elections were "an unnecessary
calculation". "I think this is an unnecessary calculation because I know very well what representatives of the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) and the entire opposition think about cancelling the Upper House. They are also for it," Tomcic said Sunday night. The HDZ is the largest parliamentary opposition party and holds the majority of seats at the House of Counties. Tomcic stressed he was not a legal expert and could not comment on the issue from a legal aspect.(hina) lml
