ZAGREB, Feb 23 (Hina) - Croatian Parliament's House of Counties' speaker Katica Ivanisevic on Friday assessed the decision made by the ruling six-party coalition on abolishing the Upper House as harmful. "A change to the Constitution
is a serious move and cannot be made merely for daily political needs," Ivanisevic told the Croatian Television Friday night. "This would make us look constitutionally and legally unstable," she added. Ivanisevic asked whether such a "truncated Parliament can survive" should the two-house parliament be changed into a one-house one, and whether elections for a new Parliament would be necessary. She held not all possible repercussions were considered when making the decision on rescinding the House.
