warned the local gas supply authorities in the last three days that
they could smell the odour of gas coming from manholes, but a Gas
Board team that had come to inspect the area claimed it was not gas.
The town authorities are to convene this evening to discuss the
situation.
Fortunately, nobody was killed in the accident, Pula Mayor
Giancarlo Zupic said.
Experts will arrive from Zagreb tomorrow to help local authorities
establish the cause of the blast.
