ZAGREB, Jan 18 (Hina) - Croatia's leading pharmaceutical company,
Pliva, and Microsoft, on Thursday signed a contract on the
provision of Microsoft technology and services to Pliva in the
coming three years.#L#
The contract is worth between eight and nine million kuna
(approximately one million US dollars) and its value will rise with
an increase in the number of installed computers with Microsoft
software programmes.
The deal will help Pliva to standardise Microsoft technologies in
computers in Croatia and its branch companies in central and
eastern Europe.
The contract envisages Microsoft licences, consulting services and
a comprehensive programme of technical support.
This will enhance Pliva's competitive abilities at markets
abroad.
The contract was signed by Pliva information technology department
head, Aleksandar Raic, and by Microsoft Croatia director, Goran
Radman.
Radman said this was the first global contract the Microsoft
corporation had signed with a Croatian firm.
