Citing diplomatic sources, the weekly "Nacional" reported in the
latest issue that Premier Ivica Racan would visit Brussels and hold
talks with EU senior officials in that period.
As government sources have already announced, Premier Racan is
likely to visit several European capitals in the second half of
January, including London, Berlin, Madrid, Athens and Rome, while
President Stjepan Mesic should travel to Paris.
On December 18, the Croatian parliament discussed the country's
bids to join the Union and passed a resolution on Croatia's
association with the EU. In the document, the Sabor encourages the
government to submit the application until the end of February. The
parliament also adopted a national programme on the matter.
