At the border crossing of Merdare, the UNMIK police stopped a truck
driving from Serbia. During the examination of the truck, it was
established that there were 10,000 pieces of 12.7-millimetre
bullets hidden under vegetables carried on the truck, the spokesman
Andrea Angeli said.
The Czech contingent, deployed within the international Kosovo
Force (KFOR), confiscated the ammunition, and nabbed the driver who
is of the Serb descent, as well as an Kosovo Albanian who waited for
the cargo from the other side of the border crossing. The arrested
men will be taken before a judge in the course of the day, the UNMIK
