"It is only the power of young educated Croats studying today in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and other countries that can protect
the Croat people in Bosnia-Herzegovina. We are making efforts to
create preconditions for the majority of young Croats outside the
country to return and join in the political, economic and cultural
life," Covic said in an interview with a paper for students from
Herzegovina studying at Zagreb University.
Covic warned that a large number of Croats were leaving the country
due to inequality, lack of human and civil rights, and the
prevention of economic and cultural progress. A group of national
parties has been working on a project aimed at protecting the status
of Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Covic said. He stressed the need
for strengthening Croat cultural and scientific institutions,
without which, he said, there could be no equality for B-H Croats.
