Terzic's appointement should be confirmed by Bosnian House of
Representatives as early as next week. The new Bosnia-Herzegovina
government is expected to start functioning in two to three weeks.
The new Bosnian Premier will have a more important role because his
term in office will last for full four years and for the first time
after the Dayton Agreement, the Prime Minister will have an
opportunity to lead a government which will have eight ministries.
It, however, remains unclear what made the SDA decide to appoint
Terzic considering his modest experience in politics and none on
the economic front, where the country faces most severe problems.
Terzic holds an engineering degree in geodesy, he was born in Zagreb
in 1960. So far, he had been appointed president of the Travnik
municipality, Central Bosnia cantonal head and the SDA party whip
in the Federal parliament. Early this year he was elected SDA vice
president.
According to Sarajevo's weekly "Slobodna Bosna", Terzic is only "a
bench player" of an influential shadow operator from the ranks of
the SDA, Hasan Muratovic.
