According to the daily, the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) of
Bosnia-Herzegovina official is suspected of having abused his
position in the case of illegal privatisation of "Eronet" company
from Mostar, which is one of the three telephone operators in
Bosnia.
Along with Covic, charges have also been brought against former
president of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina Vladimir
Soljanic for the same crime.
"An investigation lasted for three months and the incumbent Prime
Minister of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Behmen, is
informed of the entire case," Federal Interior Minister Ramo
Maslesa said.
Covic is also suspected of causing bankruptcy to the "Soko" company
from Mostar.
In keeping with the law on immunity which has recently been imposed
by international High Representative Paddy Ashdown, Covic will not
be able to claim immunity which he enjoys as a member of the Bosnian
Presidency.
