The company is expected to increase sales by another 16% in 2003.
Koncar will wrap up the business year 2002 with net profits
totalling 5.5 million kuna.
Forty percent of all sales will be realised on foreign markets.
Koncar's most important export markets are Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Slovenia and Yugoslavia. This year's exports to Yugoslavia should
amount to five million euros.
Domestic sales will total 924.7 million kuna, which is 26% more than
in 2001. The Croatian Power Industry (HEP) accounts for forty-two
percent of domestic sales.
This year the company signed contracts worth 1.03 billion kuna,
which is 71% more than at the end of 2001.
Plans for next year include a 73-million-kuna worth investment into
equipment and tools, a two-percent increase in the number of
employees, development in the area of computerisation and
communications, and the reconstruction of power generation
facilities on Yugoslav, Macedonian and Bosnian markets.
The company management has decided that the best model of
privatisation for Koncar would be the employee stock ownership
plan. A final decision on this matter will be made by the
government.
