ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - Unionists representing the disgruntled
workers of the "Croatia Bus" company on Thursday spoke with the
chief prosecutor in Croatia, Mladen Bajic, about amending charges
pressed against the company's former director, Leon Sulic. #L#
Representatives of the New Union and of the Union of Transport and
Communications submitted to Bajic evidence and a list of potential
witnesses in the investigation against Sulic, who is being accused
of a lot of wrongdoing in business transactions.
The president of the New Union, Mladen Ivekovic, told Hina that the
former director, with the help of the incumbent city leadership,
acquired company land in Heinzelova Street with illegal means,
since he paid for it at a more favourable price than the market
price.
Ivekovic dismissed claims of the Union of Professional Drivers and
Car Mechanics, which is backing Sulic, that the New Union had been
manipulated with and wanted to lead the company into bankruptcy.
He said the members of the union were "Sulic's people", who in the
past year he placed to the posts of dismissed, disloyal workers.
