The Arcos is 86 metres long with 4.5 MW power that can reach up to 12
knots per hour. The German NSW company, that will rent the ship,
will transport a total of 600 tonnes of telecommunications cables.
The blueprints for the ship, the first of its kind in the world, were
designed by the Norwegian VIK-Sandvik company.
A press release notes that with the construction of Arcos, Viktor
Lenac has entered the market of complex shipbuilding and in that way
was able to be included in producing new line programmes.
