SARAJEVO, Dec 10 (Hina) - Croatian General Ante Gotovina is
currently in Bosnia-Herzegovina and hiding in the Siroki Brijeg
region, Sarajevo's daily "Oslobodjenje" wrote in its Tuesday's
issue. #L#
Citing an anonymous source close to home intelligence services, the
daily ran a front page story according to which General Gotovina was
hiding in west Herzegovina.
Agents of some Bosnian secret services have allegedly established
that Gotovina, after whom an arrest warrant for war crimes charges
had been issued by the U.N. war crimes tribunal, was spending most
of his time in "an elite hotel in Siroki Brijeg" located near the
Croatian border.
"Gotovina's sympathisers are regularly gathering there. His
bodyguards do not come out of the hotel," the source of the daily
said.
Only from time to time Gotovina is staying near the Blidinje Lake,
namely, a private hotel whose owner is loyal to the Croatian
general, the source said.
Thank to the well-organised network of Gotovina's protectors and
supporters, the general is allegedly capable of quickly hiding in
case of a pursuit, either in Rama, Jablanica, Posusje or Siroki
Brijeg, the daily said.
"Oslobodjenje" reminded that Croatian media had on several
occasions claimed that Gotovina was hiding in Herzegovina.
The daily's source claims that a lack of political will was the
exclusive reason for Gotovina's not being arrested yet.
"Many people know when and where Gotovina is in Herzegovina and
nobody is doing anything about it," the intelligence source of the
Sarajevo daily claims.
