"I have no information," Granic said commenting on a reporter's
question whether the Hague-based tribunal was preparing two new
indictments.
The "Globus" weekly said in the latest issue that by March 2003, the
ICTY would raise indictments against Norac for crimes committed in
the Medak Pocket and Mercep for events in Vukovar in 1991.
According to the weekly, the ICTY Prosecution will hold Norac, who
was the commander of the IX. motorised Croatian Army brigade,
directly responsible for the killing of civilians and prisoners of
war in Medak villages.
The weekly says that the Hague Prosecution was conducting an
investigation into Mercep's role in Vukovar in the summer of 1991,
when he allegedly encouraged the execution of some citizens of Serb
nationality.
