ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - During Friday's parliamentary debate on the 2003 state budget, Education Minister Vladimir Strugar dismissed almost all amendments MPs had moved seeking for additional funds for the building, completion and
renovation of schools and gymnasiums. Funds for said purposes should be sought in local units' budgets, he said.

2003 state budget, Education Minister Vladimir Strugar dismissed
almost all amendments MPs had moved seeking for additional funds
for the building, completion and renovation of schools and
gymnasiums. Funds for said purposes should be sought in local

Strugar turned down some amendments with the explanation that the
budget envisaged funds for them but under different items and in
different amounts than the ones demanded by mainly opposition MPs.
The government rejected all amendments seeking additional funds
from the state budget, accepting in part only those which were
incorporated in its own amendments to the draft budget.
