The adopted set of laws includes a law of amendments to the law on
financing units of regional and local self-government, which
increases the amount of income tax revenue allocated to those
units. Under the law, the income tax revenue of counties will rise
from eight to ten percent, while funds allocated to towns and
municipalities will increase from 32 to 34 percent (or 35 percent if
they have firefighting departments).
Despite opposition by the government, which did not foresee an
increase in the income tax revenue allocated to the City of Zagreb,
the parliament adopted an amendment by MP Slavko Kojic of the Social
Democrats increasing Zagreb's share in the revenue from 45 to 47
percent.
The parliament adopted a law on automobile liability insurance
premium and full coverage, which introduces a 10% tax rate for full
coverage.
Under the amended general tax law, the possibility of paying tax
debts in instalments has been revoked.
