This is the first visit of the EBU secretary to Croatia.
Racan stressed that the government was trying to help finalise the
transformation of Croatian Radio Television into a public
institution and at its session on Thursday proposed a new bill on
HRT, of which he briefly informed his guest.
Racan hoped that the bill would introduce more stability in the work
of Croatian Television and Croatian Radio.
Stock informed Racan about his 37-year-long work experience, which
included three years as secretary-general of the EBU, the umbrella
organisation of all public televisions in Europe.
Speaking about the models of work of some foreign televisions,
Stock said Croatia should promote itself via digital television as
well, which would bring it closer to Europe and the rest of the
world.
