ZAGREB, Dec 5 (Hina) - The Croatian Radio Television (HRT) Council
on Thursday voted confidence in Croatian Television (HTV) editor-
in-chief Jasna Ulaga-Valic, but did not entirely accept her request
that it confirm eight television editors being relieved of duty.

The Council accepted requests that editors be relieved of duty only
in three cases - Oliver Drazic, Katja Kusec, and Jasmina Bozinovski
Zivalj, but refused to relieve of duty Nikola Kristic, Damir
Matkovic, Branko Schmidt, Alaksandar Kostadinov, and Zoran
Margetic.
Ulaga Valic suggested only one replacement for the three resigned
editors - radio reporter Zeljko Rosko, whom she nominated acting
editor-in-chief of the daily news programme for a period of six
months. The programme was until now headed by Oliver Drazic.
Two weeks ago the eight editors-in-chief asked to be relieved of
duty due to "permanent disagreements with regard to the programme
and lack of communication with the editor-in-chief regarding
programme decisions".
Participants in today's council session again mentioned the
problem of non-cooperation between the editorial board and the
management, i.e. director Mirko Galic.
Galic only stated that all claims about the management were false
and unfounded.
The Council did not discuss the resignations of representatives of
Croatian Employers' Association and Croatian Emigration Institute
president, Zeljko Ivancevic and Jaksa Kusan respectively, to
membership in the Council.
