ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - The Croatian government considers that it is
necessary to react to a series of untruth and unacceptable claims
made against it, Premier Ivica Racan and Deputy Prime Minister
Goran Granic, in a book entitled "Mesicu i Racane Zasto Tako (or in
an unofficial translation "Mesic and Racan, Why?")" written by
Nenad Ivankovic. The government announced that it would take legal
steps against Ivankovic. #L#
Seeing that the book written by Ivankovic pointed out the
government, the premier Racan and the deputy prime minister Granic,
the Racan cabinet considers it necessary to react to a series of
untruth and unacceptable claims against them, a press release from
the Government's Public and Media Relations Office on Tuesday
noted.
The book on the main part presents slanderous claims and rests on
lies as well as accusations that exceed the rights of any author to
present his view of events, an author's right to poetic licence and
the right to express his own thoughts... the press release said and
concluded that the government, the premier Racan and the deputy
prime minister Goran Granic retained the right to protect their
interests and undertake the appropriate legal steps.
