ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - The European Union should clearly voice its opinion regarding Croatia and the pace of its joining EU institutions, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic said on Tuesday, the government media and public
relations office said in a statement.

Granic held talks with the Greek Ambassador to Croatia, Dimitris
Viduoris, whose country will soon take over six-month chairmanship
over the EU.
"Vice Premier Granic pointed to the significance of Croatia's
joining the EU, considering the fact that the issue regulates all
activities of the incumbent government as well as of all future
governments. Granic pointed to the significance EU's defining a
clear attitude towards Croatia and the pace of its joining EU
institutions," the statement said.
According to the statement, Granic said Croatia "is in the role of a
stabilisation factor in the region, and failure to define a clear
attitude towards the pace of Croatia's joining the EU could result
in reduced intensity of regional cooperation".
