The banks' representatives signed the contract with Tourism
Minister Pave Zupan Ruskovic.
Along with the Croatian Postal Bank and Karlovacka Banka, which
entered the programme at the beginning and in mid-November, there
are now six banks in the programme.
As the previous two, the four banks offered an annual interest rate
for loans from the programme at 5.95 percent. The government will
subsidise five percent.
Interest for loans fro the "Stimulation for Success" programme,
which envisages an increase in accommodation capacities by 100,000
beds ion the next three years, is enormous, the minister said. This
will significantly improve the Croatian tourist offer, because in
the last year, foreign touroperators were complaining about the
lack of accommodation in Croatia.
In the last two years, Croatian tourism has been on a good course and
has a secure position on foreign markets, to which new loans and
investments into the quality of offer will contribute. These are
coming along gradually, but progress is already evident, Zupan
Ruskovic said.
She said that a total of 67 applications had been submitted for
loans from the "Stimulation for Success" programme, and their
approval was expected for the end of this month.
