The World Bank and the Croatian government today released a joint
statement following the completion of a Joint Portfolio Review
(JPR) of Bank-supported projects in Croatia.
The statement quotes Vorkink as saying the World Bank strongly
supports the Croatian government in its continued reform programme
and is willing to secure significant help.
The latest JPR is the second annual report which provides a joint
and all-round review of activities in Croatia which are supported
by the World Bank.
The JPR is an important instrument of assessing project execution,
identifying problems which may affect project implementation, and
of agreeing on additional measures necessary to achieve a
satisfactory project portfolio, the joint statement read.
Since Croatia's admission in 1993, the World Bank has secured funds
for 21 projects in Croatia in the total amount of US$1.065 billion,
of which 682 million has been drawn.
Today's meeting reaffirmed the interest in and commitment of both
sides to implementing the project portfolio which, along with its
goals, remains important and in line with the government's reform
plan, the statement said.
