Croatia at the end of June amounted to 166 billion kuna (EUR22.4
billion), which represents a 62 billion kuna (EUR8.37 billion)
increase in the last two and a half years. In the total amount of
assets, 88 percent refers to banks, a board member of the Hypo-Alpe-
Adria Bank, Igor Kodzoman, said at the "Open Bankers' Talks" on

The meeting, which gathered presidents and board members of banks
and representatives of the Finance Ministry and the Croatian
National Bank, was organised by the Croatian Association of Banks.
The meeting had two parts - the first part tackled the Croatian
banking system and its place and the second part was dedicated to
the banking regulation.
Presenting data on loans and deposits, a Raiffeisen bank board
member, Velimir Sonje, said Croatia was the state with the best
developed banking system in the region of central and eastern
Europe.
