These are the findings of a survey on competitiveness in Central
Europe and prospects of Croatian companies, conducted by Deloite &
Touche company. With regard to future strategic processes, 84% of
Croatian companies plan to undergo restructuring, compared to 53%
in Central Europe.
According to the survey, Croatian managers work more than their
Central European colleagues on improving business. Of all
companies included in the survey, 68% reported that their managers
dedicate more than five days a month to activities aimed at
improving business, while managers in 42% of Central European
countries do so.
Areas in which Croatian companies lag behind are customer
relations, product diversity and information technology. It is
suggested in the survey that Croatian companies pay more attention
to customer relations and customers' needs as well as expand their
product lines to be able to compete on regional markets.
The competitiveness of Croatian companies should be based on the
flexibility and efficiency of production processes, which can be
achieved by modernising production methods and developing
information technology as well as human resources, it is said in the
survey.
