In the January-September period, the value of Croatia's exports
rose by 3.6 percent to 3.554 billion dollars in comparison to the
same period in 2001, while exports rose by 13.6 percent to 7.720
billion, according to provisional figures published by the Central
Bureau of Statistics web site.
The result of the slow growth of export and the accelerated growth
of import is the deficit of 4.166 billion, which is 23.8 percent
more than the trade deficit in the January-September period of
2001.
The deficit thus exceeded the value of export by 613 million
dollars.
The coverage of import by export was only 46 percent.
