Until next Thursday, workers should receive two overdue salaries,
and the third one will be paid by the end of this month, pursuant to
an agreement Linic concluded with unions last week, Marjanovic told
reporters.
The agreement was reached after the ironworks' employees last week
staged a rally in front of the government building in Zagreb
protesting against the re-starting of liquidation procedure in the
factory, following the withdrawal of the Russian-Austrian company
"Trubo Impex" from the process of its privatisation.
The Sisak Ironworks employs 1,700 workers, and its plant in Caprag
an additional 270 workers.
Marjanovic said four strategic partners had lately shown interest
in purchasing the ironworks.
