Miroslav Tudjman, the HIP president, said they were gathered around
a programme for the creation of a modern Croatian state and the
political legacy of the first Croatian President, the late Franjo
Tudjman, so as to help Croatia come out of the social and national
crisis.
Tudjman called on other kindred parties and associations to
cooperate, not in bids to oust the incumbent authorities, but in
attempts to draw up a programme for a modern Croatia.
The Croatian nation and society are in the biggest crisis since
1991, as all that has been achieved is now brought into question,
said Goran Dodig, the president of the Croatian Spring Activists.
He said Croatia was in a process irreversibly heading towards the
failure, which some would like to see as soon as possible. "We want
to stop this and be an alternative, i.e. a moral political force,"
Dodig added.
The president of the Zagorje Democratic Party, Stanko Belina,
believes Croatia should be pulled out of the defensive position in
relation to the international community in order to stop Zagreb
from being a mere executor of its will.
