protests against Slovenia's joining NATO. #L#
A group of about 100 representatives of a movement called "Say No To
NATO", anti-globalists and university intellectuals protested
near the government's building in downtown Ljubljana. They said
peaceful protests would be held until Saturday.
The anti-NATO protests are being held in coordination with the
Social Forum which started in Florence under the slogan: "We Don't
Want NATO, We Want Peace". At the upcoming NATO summit in Prague,
Slovenia expects an invitation to join that military-political
alliance, along with six countries from east and central Europe.
