The Croatian government, Picula said, still maintains that the
cooperation with the ICTY is going on, that there have been no
turnarounds in Croatia?s foreign policy and that its moves should
not pose a threat to the dynamics of the country?s rapprochement
with the European Union and NATO.
Croatia is determined to continue with full cooperation with the
ICTY and will respect the tribunal?s decision on the appeals it has
submitted, once that decision is made.
Among other things, the Ministry?s statement also notes that the
ICTY prosecution had never requested Bobetko to give a pre-hearing
statement under oath as a possible suspect, nor had it sent him such
a summons, although his address is known, as is the fact that he is
83 and in poor health.
