The incumbent president of the Bosnian Bishops' Conference, Banja
Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica, told Thursday's issue of the "Vecernji
List" daily's edition in Bosnia that the Church dignitaries in
Bosnia-Herzegovina had invited the Pope to come again.
The pastoral visit of the Pope to Banja Luka and Bosnia at this
moment will naturally be of the great help for the Catholic faithful
not only in Banja Luka, of whom two thirds are still outside their
homes and parishes, but also for all other Catholic believers in
Bosnia and for all other people, particularly for those deprived of
their rights in this country, Komarica said adding that the Pope's
visit would be a contribution to ecumenism and an opportunity for
Bosnia's affirmation in the international community as well.
According to unofficial information from some circles in the
Church, Pope John Paul II, during his third pastoral visit to
Croatia next year, will possibly visit Banja Luka and beatify Ivan
Merz in his hometown.
