"Rest assured that my father, his fellow fighters, I... will not
look the other way if he were to be arrested," Ivan Bobetko said
entering his father's house.
This afternoon, when the government stated that the UN war crimes
tribunal at The Hague had requested an interview with the general in
his capacity of defendant, Bobetko was visited by many friends,
party colleagues, fellow fighters, family, and lawyers, including
Bosiljko Misetic.
Among the visitors were also Andrija Hebrang and Ljubo Cesic-Rojs
of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
An indictment against Bobetko is an indictment against Croatia,
said MP Cesic-Rojs. The foundations of the Croatian state were laid
in the Homeland War in which Bobetko was one of the most prominent
figures, he said, adding that Croatian veterans surrendered to no
one.
