establishment of the rule of law. #L#
During his tour to the downtown Mostar where he held talks on the
problems which judges in Mostar were faced with when they did not
regularly receive their salaries, Ashdown pointed out that huge
money was being spent for politicians, while insufficient funds
were allocated for salaries of judges.
The reform in the judiciary and the removal of corruption from the
political scene are of key importance for bids to attract foreign
investors in Bosnia, the Briton added.
He called on Bosnian citizens to vote for reforms at the forthcoming
elections, set for 5 October.
Bosnia's future lies only in reforms or the country will face
failure, he cautioned.
