Srebrenica was not the only massacre in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1992-
5 but it was the biggest massacre which took place in Europe after
World War Two, High Representative Paddy Ashdown said in a
statement delivered to the media late on Tuesday.
Pretending that the massacre did not happen constitutes an insult
to all the peoples in Bosnia, Ashdown said.
The report was released on Tuesday by the Bosnian Serb entity
government's office for cooperation with the Hague-based UN war
crimes tribunal.
Ashdown said the report, which he described as tendentious, absurd,
and inflammatory, strayed so far from the truth that it was almost
unworthy of comment.
He hoped that no responsible politician would let such a report be
linked to his name, particularly ahead of the Oct. 5
election that Ashdown said had to directed to the future and not the
revision of Bosnia's history.
