OKUCANI SIGN ANNEX TO MEMORANDUM ON UNDERSTANDING OKUCANI, Sept 25 (Hina) - The new head of the United States' Agency for the International Development (USAID) branch in Croatia, William Jeffers, on Wednesday signed an annex to the
memorandum on understanding with the eastern Croatian municipality of Okucani. The annex was signed by Mayor Mato Bilonjic on behalf of Okucani.
OKUCANI, Sept 25 (Hina) - The new head of the United States' Agency
for the International Development (USAID) branch in Croatia,
William Jeffers, on Wednesday signed an annex to the memorandum on
understanding with the eastern Croatian municipality of Okucani.
The annex was signed by Mayor Mato Bilonjic on behalf of Okucani.

USAID's partners in the implementation of the memorandum are the
International Relief Committee (IRC), the Serb Democratic Forum ,
and a German non-governmental organisation ASB.
The annex stipulates the assistance in the construction of the
local infrastructure such as 9.5 kilometres of the water supplies
system, sewerage, the building of a market, and other facilities in
this town, as well as local social centres in Okucani, Trnakovac and
Cage.
Mayor Bilonjic said that USAID had to date offered over 10 million
kuna for the reconstruction of this war-torn town.
The ceremony of the signing of the annex was an occasion for the
farewell visit of the outgoing head of the USAID in Croatia, Pamela
Boldwin. She said she was very pleased with the cooperation with
Okucani, and thanked local authorities and representatives of
other organisations for cooperation in the implementation of the
memorandum.
