The key problem at the summit was relations between developed and
developing countries, namely the rivalry between the United
States, Canada and Australia on one side and the EU on the other with
regard to the support of developing countries, the minister said.
A Croatian delegation at the summit, led by President Stjepan
Mesic, supported the standpoints of the EU, having co-ordinated its
standpoints with those of representatives of European countries in
transition, the so-called Central Group, Kovacevic said.
