The Republic Electoral Commission earlier set a list of ten
candidates for the upcoming Serbian presidential election, and
added Pavkovic on Wednesday, as a candidate for a group of
citizens.
Candidates for the ballot which will take place on September 29, are
the incumbent Yugoslav President, Vojislav Kostunica, as a
candidate for the Democratic Party of Serbia, a federal vice-
premier and candidate of a group of citizens, Miroljub Labus. These
two have equal voter support, according to surveys carried out so
far.
Another candidate is the president of the Serb Radical Party,
Vojislav Seselj, who was supported by Hague indictee Slobodan
Milosevic from his cell.
Milosevic did not support the candidacy of a member of his party,
the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), Velimir Zivojinovic. Another
SPS senior official is also running, Branislav Ivkovic. Other
candidates include the president of the Serb Movement for
Reconstruction, Vuk Draskovic, the leader of the Party of Serb
Unity, Borislav Pelevic, the president of the Social Democrats, Vuk
Obradovic, and candidates of groups of citizens, Tomislav
Lalosevic and Dragan Radenovic.
