Kostunica said that he would take a vacation during his
presidential campaign.
At today's session of the party's central committee, Kostunica
presented the economic basis of his programme. His statement that
he would fight the "Columbiasation of Serbia" has already provoked
heated public debates, especially among his former partners in the
ruling Serbian DOS coalition, since he announced direct
confrontation with the Serbian government and its premier and
president of the Democratic Party, Zoran Djindjic.
Around ten candidates have been nominated for the post of Serbia's
president, including Miroljub Labus, the candidate of a group of
citizens, who is supported by a part of the DOS coalition, Serbian
Radical Party leader Vojislav Seselj, Serbian Renewal Movement
president Vuk Draskovic, Serbian Socialist Party candidates, actor
Bata Zivojinovic and Branislav Ivkovic, Party of Serbian Unity
leader Branislav Pelevic, and the leader of the Socialdemocracy and
once the youngest general of the former Yugoslav People's Army
(JNA), Vuk Obradovic.
