workforce and companies have to import workers from neighbouring Bosnia-Herzegovina.

employed in the construction of the Zagreb-Split motorway, but
Public Works and Construction Minister Radimir Cacic has said there
is a lack in workforce and companies have to import workers from
neighbouring Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
On Monday, Minister Cacic, accompanied by several reporters,
toured construction sites from Bosiljevo to the northern side of
Mala Kapela Tunnel and from Zadar II to Gornja Ploca, the sections
which will have to be built by June 2003.
During the minister's visit, the Croatian Motorway (HAC) company's
management board chairman, Stanko Kovac, said about 5,000 people
were working on the construction of the sections, while another
5,000 were employed in the accompanying jobs.
Minister Cacic added that more carpenters, other qualified and non-
qualified workers were still needed.
Under the Croatian government's programme, the total value of works
on motorways by 2005 will come to 2.68 billion euros, and of it, 1.60
billion will be spent for the construction of the Bosiljevo-Split
part, Kovac said.
