Klestil said the talks addressed bilateral relations, the
situation in the region, and the prospects of world politics.
Austria is one of the biggest investors in Croatia and fully
supports Croatia's membership in the European Union, said
Klestil.
He added he and Mesic would meet again at an European economic forum
in Salzburg next week as members on a committee tackling EU
expansion.
Mesic described today's talks as open and friendly.
Austria is a good friend of Croatia's, having been the first EU
member whose parliament ratified Croatia's Stabilisation and
Association Agreement with the EU.
Later today Mesic is attending in Burgenland a round table debate on
Southeast Europe and European integration.
