ZAGREB, Sept 4 (Hina) - Croatia is one of the first member-countries

The new system, whose name means 24 hours a day seven days a week,
will shorten the procedure of issuing international arrest
warrants from the current four-six months to one day.
Eighty of the 179 Interpol member-countries have the equipment
required for the system, and Croatia has been invited to join the
first 40 countries, Noble told reporters at the Police
Directorate.
Police director Ranko Ostojic said that it had been agreed with the
Interpol secretary-general to extend the mandate of Croatia's
current liaison officer in Interpol's central office in Lyon,
Mladen Vulinac, and appoint several new liaison officers.
Ostojic said that Interpol experts would this month hold a seminar
on terrorism for Croatian policemen in Zagreb.
Interpol has 179 full members. Croatia joined the international
police organisation in 1992 at the 61st general assembly in Dakar.
