SIBENIK, Sept 4 (Hina) - The Croatian Association of Demobilised
Homeland War Soldiers (HURBDR) maintains that a government
decision to extend the deadline for the servicing of self-
employment loans is a "new swindle of war veterans and confirmation
of the Government's immoral and inhuman treatment of veterans and
their problems." #L#
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Sibenik-based
association said the government decision, which refers to loans
granted in 1996-7, would disgruntle 3,800 war veterans.
The HURBDR suggested the government settle the self-employment
loans issue by writing off loans for those veterans who renounce the
right to purchase shares in INA, HT, and other public enterprises to
which they are entitled by law.
